Not able to launch exam in Mac machine
If you're experiencing issues with your camera or facing any errors when launching a test, follow these steps to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:
Ensure Secure Browser has proper permissions:
Before you begin the test, verify that Secure Browser has the necessary permissions on your Mac. This is crucial for the application to function properly and access all the resources it needs during the exam. Here’s what you need to check:
This permission allows Secure Browser to access your entire disk, ensuring it can read and write data where needed for the exam.
Enabling Accessibility allows Secure Browser to interact with your system’s UI, such as controlling the keyboard and mouse, which is necessary for the test environment to function smoothly.
This setting grants Secure Browser the ability to record your screen and audio during the exam for monitoring purposes. The exam needs to proceed without interruptions.
Here are the most common issues that can prevent an exam from launching on a Mac:
Operating System Compatibility: The Mac OS version may be outdated or incompatible with the exam software. Ensure the OS meets the software’s minimum requirements.
Browser Permissions: Secure Browser or other test software may lack necessary permissions (camera, microphone, screen recording).
Go to System Preferences > Security & Privacy to enable these permissions.
Security Settings: Mac’s security settings may block certain apps from launching. Check Security & Privacy settings and allow the software under Privacy if it’s listed.
Blocked Applications: Other applications running in the background, such as screen-sharing tools, messaging apps, or VPNs, can interfere. Close all unnecessary applications before launching the exam.
Antivirus Restrictions: Some antivirus settings may block the exam software. Temporarily disable these to see if they are causing the issue.
Pop-Up Blockers or Extensions: Certain browser extensions or pop-up blockers might interfere with launching the test. Disable these temporarily.
Insufficient RAM or Storage: Limited memory or storage may cause performance issues that prevent the test from opening. Ensure sufficient system resources are available.
